Mother Mary of the Annunciation Beaumont, arrives from France to establish the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland
Was founded as the first chartered Catholic women’s colleges in Ohio
Renamed Gannon College; received charter as a four-year men’s college
Became co-educational and established a graduate school
In 1968, the College was separately incorporated as an independent, non-profit organization with the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland continuing to serve as the institution's religious sponsor
In January, 1969, the Board of Trustees for the College was formed, and started admitting men
Division of Nursing of Saint John College of Cleveland transferred to Ursuline College and is now The Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions
Attained University status
Began offering graduate programs
Merged with Villa Maria College, a local Catholic all-women’s college
Opened Ruskin, Florida campus offering graduate health science programs
Dr. David King becomes the first lay and first male President
