Offices ClosedUrsuline College offices and library close at 12:30 p.m. every Friday in June and July. Summer classes continue as scheduled.
To better reflect the way students access library services today, Ursuline College is renovating the main floor of the three-story library.
The Ralph M. Besse Library is the heart of the Ursuline College campus. Open 100 hours weekly during the traditional semester, the library is the most utilized building on campus where students seek a welcoming place to get assistance and deepen their learning. The library currently houses nearly 120,000 physical volumes and its patrons can access more than 300,000 additional books through the library’s membership in the OhioLINK and Ohio Private Academic Library networks.
The new, visually inviting Learning Commons will feature comfortable seating, collaborative work spaces, a café, and a one-stop information desk providing students improved access to academic support services ranging from IT to tutoring.
Working with woman-owned Van Auken Akins Architects, Ursuline College has developed a design for a state-of-the-art learning space for both self-directed study and academic assistance.
Please consider supporting this upgrade with a donation. A $15,000 challenge by the Friends of the Library and a generous alumna will double the impact of gifts made by June 30.
We need your help. The total estimated library renovation cost is $800,000. Ursuline College has already secured half of the funding needed and is reaching out to our generous philanthropic community to help advance this project for the benefit of our deserving students. Your contribution by June 30 will help make this project a reality.
