June 26, 2015
Ursuline College dedicated its two new buildings on June 26, 2015. The event started with the unveiling of the name of the new athletic center, which was proudly announced as the Sister Diana Stano Athletic Center. Sister Diana said that while she was embarrassed by the gesture, she was incredibly honored to be remembered in such a beautiful way.
Following the dedication and naming of the Stano Athletic Center, representatives from the Board of Trustees, the Athletic Department, alumnae and donors cut the ribbon to signify the opening of the Stano Athletic Center.
The event then moved over to the Parker Hannifin Center for the Creative and Healing Arts & Sciences, where again the building was dedicated and the ribbon was cut by faculty from the Breen School of Nursing and the College of Arts & Sciences, as well as alumnae, donors and members of the Board.
The dedication portion of the evening concluded with representatives from each department that will be moving into the new buildings placing crucifixes that were blessed by Bishop Anthony Pilla in various locations throughout the buildings. While the buildings are not yet complete, the tentative date for completion is mid-July.
