GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ursuline College soccer player Vanessa Consiglio has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced Monday (June 29) morning.
Consiglio is a rising senior and is the third straight Arrow to win the award after softball players Sam Gauvin (2013-14) and Natalie Huggins (2014-15) were the first two G-MAC Female Scholar-Athlete honorees.
In late November, Consiglio was the recipient of the Capital One Academic All-America® award for NCAA Division II women's soccer. She carries a 3.97 GPA while double majoring in business administration and marketing.
On the pitch, she collected a laundry list of awards while helping UC capture both the regular season and postseason tournament conference titles. She led the nation in assists with 19 and finished fourth in the country in points per game. Consiglio also scored 12 goals to finish with a single season school record 43 points.
She was recognized as the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year and earned second team all-region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of American and Daktronics, Inc.
