Student Research Symposium showcases academic inquiry on April 24, 25

    April 20, 2018

More than just a quiet place to walk the dog, Ursuline College is actually a hive of academic inquiry, where students at the undergraduate and graduate levels tackle difficult questions in their fields. That work will be on display at the College on April 24 and April 25 when 28 students share 14 posters and five oral presentations in this year’s Student Research Symposium.

Their topics range from “The Effects Social Media Has on College Age Students,” to “The Process of Using Decellularized Liver Scaffolding For Liver Disease.”

“Our students are pursuing important, relevant research on a wide variety of topics. We are happy to have community members come see the results of their work,” said Sister Christine De Vinne, OSU, Ph.D., president of the College.

Research poster displays will be on view in the atrium of the Bishop Anthony Pilla Student Learning Center starting on Tuesday afternoon, April 24. On Wednesday, April 25, the Student Research Symposium opens with brief remarks at 6:00 p.m. Oral presentations will take place in Pilla Center Room 101 from 6:10 p.m. until 7:45 p.m.; and in Pilla Center Room 215 from 7:00 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. Award presentations and brief closing remarks are set for 7:50 p.m.
