A Message From President Sister Christine De Vinne, OSU
We continue to urge all members of our campus community to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible, toward the goals of protecting your own health and promoting herd immunity on our campus and in our larger communities. Find a COVID vaccine near you.
In accordance with the most recent CDC recommendations and Ohio Department of Health orders, after discussion with our COVID task force this week, as of June 2, 2021, Ursuline College will:
- Continue to require that masks be worn in campus buildings by those who are not fully vaccinated
- Continue to require masks be worn by all in classrooms, labs, and meeting rooms, regardless of vaccination status
- Continue to require social distancing of six feet in campus buildings by those who are not fully vaccinated
- No longer require vaccinated people to wear masks outdoors while on campus
As a campus community, we remain committed to providing a safe environment. At the start of summer, with the change in Ohio guidelines, we will keep masked while the percentage of our vaccinated population continues to increase. Please note that, even outside the classrooms and meeting rooms, vaccinated individuals are welcome to continue wearing masks if they choose. Everyone is reminded to maintain other safe practices: monitoring your health status daily and washing your hands frequently.
The College will revisit these requirements by July 1 and will issue fall semester requirements by August 1. In addition, we will revisit these requirements at any time that we learn of new CDC guidance or Ohio Department of Health guidance or orders.
Thank you for taking care of yourselves and, in the spirit of Saint Angela Merici, considering the health and well-being of others.
