Ursuline College has appointed Robert P. Hamill its new Vice President for Finance and Administration, Treasurer, and Secretary. Informally, he is known on campus as the new CFO (Chief Financial Officer).
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Hamill to Ursuline College, where he is already providing valuable insight and financial oversight,” said Ursuline President Sister Christine De Vinne, OSU, PhD. “Dr. Hamill’s background in higher education administration, especially his service at a college of a similar size and budget, is of great value to us.”
Dr. Hamill brings to Ursuline more than 20 years’ experience in college administration, including six years at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, which is comparable to Ursuline in student headcount and budget.
Prior to his administrative work, Dr. Hamill was on the faculty at Indiana Wesleyan University and Brescia University, an Ursuline college in Kentucky, teaching business courses and (at Indiana Wesleyan University) also serving as dean. A CPA and an attorney, he worked in accounting, auditing, and law, before turning to academics.
From 2003 until 2019, Dr. Hamill also served as a Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, an independent corporation that accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in 19 states, including Ohio.
Dr. Hamill earned his PhD in Higher Education Administration at Indiana State University, a law degree at the Vermont Law School, and MBA and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees at Pace University.
