After trailblazing careers that spanned from the classroom to the boardroom, the White House to outer space, and everywhere in between, Barbie is expanding her portfolio of careers once more--this time, in the field of Art Therapy!
"Representation and visibility matters, and for that reason, we are thrilled that Mattel worked with the art therapy community to launch Barbie's first ever mental health career as an art therapist," stated Dr. Rebecca Miller, program director of the graduate Counseling and Art Therapy program at Ursuline College.
Dr. Miller continued, "For those interested in pursuing the profession of Art Therapy, this is an extremely exciting time in the state of Ohio with the passage of the Art Therapy licensure bill in the summer of 2023. No institution is better positioned to help individuals in this pursuit than Ursuline College with its undergraduate Art Therapy degree major, the Master of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy graduate program, and one of the only undergraduate to graduate Art Therapy bridge programs in the country."
