Why I Chose Ursuline
Ursuline’s courses in Architectural History, Conservation Studio, and Adaptive Reuse, to name a few, provided me with the necessary foundation to succeed in this field. Due to the proximity of the college to historic sites and neighborhoods, I can easily translate my knowledge from the classroom to the real world.
Putting My Ursuline Degree to Work
In Summer 2017, I assessed buildings in seven commercial districts of Cleveland Heights. In Spring 2018, I completed a Historic American Buildings Survey of a Cleveland Heights elementary school as part of Ursuline’s Documenting and Recording course. For my master’s thesis in Historic Preservation, I’m creating an adaptive reuse plan for this same school. My courses at Ursuline have allowed me to successfully complete these various projects in Cleveland Heights.
I’m Making My World More…
[Real.] This hands-on experience allowed me to immerse myself in multiple facets of historic preservation. I love that I can apply the knowledge I’m learning in the classroom to the real world.
