    Are you eager to develop the knowledge and skills you need to become a nursing leader with advanced skills in systems and management? As a student enrolled in The Breen School of Nursing’s online MSN in Leadership track you would take selected master’s core courses to enhance clinical reasoning and utilize evidence–based practice, as well as five additional courses focused on leadership development. The online nursing coursework and clinical experiences prepare you to become a dynamic, confident leader in the field.

    The National League for Nursing has designated the Breen School of Nursing a national Center of Excellence and U.S. News & World Report ranks Ursuline's MSN program #41 among the nation's top graduate nursing programs and #3 in Ohio.

    MSN Accreditation

    The master's of science in nursing and the post-graduate certificate programs at Ursuline College are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) through 2025.

    Admission Requirements: MSN in Nursing Leadership

    Students are admitted to the program to start in August and January each academic year. Requirements include:

    • Official transcripts from all nursing programs attended including one that verifies completion of an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing.
    • Evidence of ability to do graduate work as indicated by a 3.0 average shown on applicant's transcript.
    • Three letters of recommendation attesting to the suitability of the applicant for graduate work in the particular program. If possible, one from a previous instructor, one from an Advanced Practice Nurse and one from a work supervisor.
    • Completion of an interview, if requested, with the program director and/or graduate faculty.
    • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
    • One year of work experience as a registered nurse.
