Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology Program Overview

The bachelor’s degree in psychology at Ursuline College gives you the opportunity to study human behavior, cognition, and mental health through both theory and applied learning. As a psychology undergrad, you’ll choose between a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology or a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology, allowing you to align your coursework with your long-term plans.

    Students benefit from:

    • Small class sizes
    • Close faculty mentorship
    • Early exposure to research
    • Professional and academic preparation

As a psychology student, you will conduct original research in Ursuline’s psychology lab and present your work at the annual Student Research Symposium. Many students also submit proposals to regional and national conferences, are inducted into Ursuline’s Psi Chi chapter, or find inspiration from Ursuline alumni as they build their professional networks.

For students who need added flexibility, Ursuline also offers an online undergraduate psychology program, allowing you to complete your psychology bachelor’s degree in a fully online format.

B.A. vs. B.S. in Psychology—Which One Is Right For You?

At Ursuline, both the graduate school (B.S.) and applied (B.A.) pathways provide a career-ready undergraduate psychology degree, but each serves a different academic focus.

The B.A. in Psychology follows an applied psychology track and is well-suited for students interested in careers that value interpersonal skills, communication, and real-world application.

The B.S. in Psychology emphasizes preparation for graduate study, with a stronger focus on research methods, statistics, and scientific inquiry.

    Psychology Degree Program Concentrations

As part of your psychology degree requirements, you’ll complete 4-5 elective courses that allow you to focus your interests. Ursuline offers four psychology concentrations:

    Clinical Forensic Psychology
    Experimental/Cognitive Psychology
    Industrial/Organizational Psychology
    School Psychology

These concentrations help you explore specific applications of psychology while building a well-rounded psychology bachelor's degree.

    Scholarships For Psychology Majors

Ursuline offers scholarships for psychology majors that support academic achievement and experiential learning. These awards may help offset tuition costs and support student participation in research conferences and academic enrichment opportunities.
