How did your experience at Ursuline help your career journey?
My time at Ursuline allowed me to be explorative. I have varied interests and finding a degree to encompass my passions was challenging. However, my advisors and professors helped engage my talents and pursue skills that would eventually lead me into professions that cultivated my imagination and expressed my love of telling stories.
How does your Ursuline education show up in your current position at Hiram?
Currently, I serve as the Communication Manager at Hiram College. The journey into Higher Education has been enthralling. A few of my responsibilities include sharing student and faculty accomplishments, overseeing the internal communication plan for the College, and performing as the primary copywriter and editor on a variety of communication projects. My education at Ursuline was surrounded by networking activities and courses. I was involved across campus in diverse opportunities including Residence Life, Campus Ministry, and Student Affairs. Many of these opportunities bolstered my ability in public speaking, public relations, and written communication. Often, writing can be formulaic and lose its luster, but my creativity has never faltered, and I have my education at Ursuline to thank for that.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience as a student at Ursuline College?
As I stated once before the bolt of energy, enlightenment, and ambition that Ursuline struck me with is what I hope to bring to others for the rest of my life. My education journey didn’t end after Ursuline and my dreams still revolve around publishing my work, pursuing my MBA, and travelling across the globe to work for non-profits assisting with humanitarian actions in healthcare or environmental studies.
