What made you choose Ursuline?
I choose Ursuline for the location, peaceful campus, academic path, and the prestigious reputation that the institution is known for.
What did you like best about the English major?
The English major here at Ursuline studies very inclusive material. Not only are the works explored diverse but the connections between the ages and genres are discussed to create a deeper appreciation for the subject. The English professors go above and beyond to offer hands-on experiences in the community that benefit life after graduation.
You served an internship at The Land. How did your Ursuline education prepare you for that experience and has it influenced your ideas about your future career?
Interning for The Land was a great opportunity brought to my attention by my advisor, Dr. Trostel. The Land is a local newspaper that focuses on community triumphs on social media and a blog platform. My Ursuline education prepared me for the challenge of the fast-paced journalist deadlines, and I was able to articulate myself in the work no matter the project.
What would you say to encourage a student considering majoring in English at Ursuline?
The program offered here is personalized and perfect! The professors are more than willing to help and, most importantly, to focus on what career path you would like to endeavor. The support and benefits that come with attending school in a close-knit community are unmatched and ensure nothing less than success.
