    Women’s leadership is on the rise. Women’s contributions are being valued and advanced more than ever. While preparing you for your career of choice, Ursuline equips you for maximum success within that career through an education that emphasizes women’s issues, perspectives, and leadership development.

    Through the Women’s Studies minor, you’ll study influential women leaders in art, history, literature, music, philosophy, and theology. You’ll contemplate the impact society and its norms have on women, here in the U.S. and around the world. You’ll research, read, and dialogue about contemporary women’s issues as they relate to career, pay, family, healthcare, and more. The Women's Studies minor will help you develop an empowered voice, and become a more socially conscious, ethically-motivated citizen of the world.

    Careers: Women's Studies Minor

    Understanding the role of gender in society will prepare you as an advocate for social justice and equality in any career path you choose. The interdisciplinary nature of thise minor allows you to pursue your interests on the topic of gender while building research, writing, and analytical thinking skills and refining your values. If you anticipate a career where you’ll be working with women or women’s issues, this is a great opportunity for you. Just some of the jobs you might pursue with a minor in Women’s Studies:

    • Nurse (pair with major in nursing)
    • Domestic Violence Prevention (pair with a major in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology)
    • Sexual Assault Services Program Coordinator (pair with a major in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology)
    • Youth Ministry Coordinator (pair with a major in Religious Studies)
    • Physician (pair with a major in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry and follow the pre-med track)
    • Media/News (pair with a major in English and follow the media and language track)
    • Public Policy Program Director (pair with a major in Political Science or Legal Studies)
    • Political Lobbyist (pair with a major in Political Science or Legal Studies)
