    St. Nicholas Wish List

    St. Nicholas Wish List

St. Nicholas, a 4th-century Greek bishop, is remembered by the Church for his compassion and generosity. Over the centuries, parents in many European countries have commemorated St. Nicholas by placing candies or cookies in the shoes of their children on the night before his feast day.

Our needs at Ursuline go a little beyond candies and cookies, although we gratefully welcome gifts in any size. Please have a look at our St. Nicholas Wish List and consider donating to one of these special efforts.

Student Emergency Fund: Ursuline College students sometimes face relatively minor economic hardships that threaten their ability to remain enrolled. For instance, inability to pay a $350 car repair bill can lead a student to drop out. In situations such as this, students can turn to the College’s Emergency Fund. Overseen by the Office of Student Affairs, this fund comes with strict guidelines to prevent misuse and reminds us of our call to compassion. Donate to the Student Emergency Fund here.

Student Scholarships: Ursuline offers scholarships to enable current and future students to thrive, regardless of their financial means. We depend on the generosity of alumnae, friends, corporate donors, and foundations to make the gifts that make the difference. Donate to Student Scholarships here.

COVID Response: In response to the pandemic, we have provided face masks, hand sanitizer, wipes, disinfectant, paper towels, and more to each classroom, computer lab, and office. We have also increased the hours of the cleaning staff, installed clear acrylic partitions to front desks and classrooms, and installed cameras in classrooms for virtual classes. Your support for COVID Response enables Ursuline to maintain a healthy environment for our faculty, staff, and students. Donate to COVID Response here.

Institute for Women, Wellness and Work: The new Institute for Women, Wellness and Work is about empowering women with flexible, meaningful learning options that enable them to make changes, both in their own lives and the lives of others. The Institute is a place where women can learn, connect and thrive. We’re building on a tradition of putting women first for nearly 150 years. With your support, we’re able to offer grants to women from disadvantaged communities. Donate to the Institute for Women, Wellness and Work here.

Area of Greatest Need: Perhaps you would prefer to give to Ursuline College’s area of greatest need, which supports College operating expenses, from faculty salaries, to technology, to utilities and campus maintenance. Your gift will help us keep the lights burning for St. Nick! Donate to the Area of Greatest Need here.
