Explore the tutoring centers available at Ursuline to help students succeed.
Ursuline offers free one-on-one tutoring by professional tutors, select staff and faculty, and well-trained, faculty-recommended peer tutors. Students can schedule tutoring appointments weekly when needed or for the semester. Appointments are necessary and can be scheduled through Navigate UC. Directions on how to set up one-on-one appointments are listed below. If you cannot find the class you need, please contact Tiffany Mackie for assistance.
Skills tutoring by select professional tutors and staff is also available for note-taking, time management, and other topics. Please contact the Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Coordinator for assistance.
There are two types of group drop-in study sessions: Study Tables and Supplemental Instruction. Study Tables are hosted by a peer tutor and each session can cover topics from multiple classes. If you need clarification about a topic from class, a study table visit is the way to go. Supplemental Instruction is offered by select staff and faculty for specific courses where the instructor will engage the students in hands on activities while learning the material. You can find the Supplemental Instruction sessions on Navigate UC, directions are below.
Academic Support also sponsors skill workshops throughout the semester with topics including Note Taking, Time Management, and Destressing. Check your calendar in Navigate UC for times and locations.
Students engage in collaborative sessions with writing academic coaches to enhance their capacity to effectively express their thoughts through written communication across various subjects and writing styles. Instead of simply submitting their papers for proofreading, students actively participate in refining their writing skills and gaining insights from their errors, working alongside the writing academic coaches.
