Our Faculty
Leo Coach has a MM in Ethnomusicology from Cleveland State University. Ethnomusicology is the science of studying music as culture and how different cultures from around the world use music.
He has performed with musicians from South India, Slovenia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Algeria. In addition, he is a regular contributor to The Thyagaraja Festival of South Indian music held annually at Cleveland State.
He has performed with jazz musicians in concerts and regularly toured Europe playing in such festivals as the Ljubljana Jazz Festival, the Lent Festival and the Birmingham England Custard Factory music series.
Leo has been the recipient of major grants from The ArtsLink/Sorros Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Slovenian Government for composing, performing, and special projects both in the U.S. and Europe.
He continues to perform in the Cleveland area with different ensembles ranging from Jazz to R & B to Salsa.
