    Women Entrepreneurs + Innovators

    An entrepreneurship course, speaker series, mentors, and mini-grants will help you launch your business idea.

    Have a great idea for an invention? Want to launch your brand on Etsy? Ursuline College's new Women Entrepreneurs + Innovators program includes classes on entrepreneurship and business fundamentals, mentoring with people who can guide you to success, and even mini-grants to help you get your idea off the ground. The program is open to enrolled undergraduate, degree-completion (UCAP), and graduate students from any major or grad program.

    Speaker Series

    Speakers from a variety of backgrounds bring new ideas and lots of inspiration. 

    • January 20, 2022 -- Kayla Lupean on launching her inspired business
    • January 28, 2022 -- Julia Hotz on Solutions Journalism
    • March 3, 2022 -- Dora Lake on support available for entrepreneurs
    • April 7, 2022 -- Heather Dodig, on banking basics for entrepreneurs
    • May 6, 2022 -- Lila Mills and Lawrence Daniel Caswell on Cleveland Documenters
    • November 9, 2022 -- An Evening of Entrepreneurship with student Pop-up Shops
    • November 16, 2023 -- An Evening of Entrepreneurship with Kayla Lupean of PlayMaysie

    Upcoming Programming

    Our Spring 2023 class schedule will offer: BU 288 Entrepreneurship Lab, FH 452 Senior Symposium, and FH 305 Branding. More information can be found in the Course Catalog.

    Mini-grants

    Thanks to a generous grant from the Burton Morgan Foundation, Ursuline College is offering minigrants ($100-$1,000) to individuals or teams who need funding to support developing their business or venture. Application deadline is December 8, 2023.

    CareerFit

    Ursuline's Office of Career Services will work with you on your business idea development, pairing you with a personal CareerFit Coach and a mentor who can help you navigate your business launch. 

    Institute for Women, Wellness & Work

    Year-round, Ursuline's Institute for Women, Wellness & Work offers a wealth of online workshops, master classes, videos, articles, and podcasts focused on your professional development and wellness. Recent master classes include "Manage your Energy, not your Time," "Designing your Career to fit your Life," and "Team Building and Collaboration." The Institute's programming provides information and inspiration you can put to use immediately as you build your business. Learn more here.
