Our Faculty
Stacey O’Brien came to the Ursuline College Social Work program in 2017, after years of direct practice. Her doctoral work focused on the implicit curriculum. Dr. O’Brien is licensed as an Independent Social Worker with supervisory status in Ohio. Before coming to Ursuline, she served as the executive director of the Community Partnership on Aging, which grew in scope and received regional awards and grants under her tenure. Prior work experiences consist of inpatient medical, psychiatric, and pediatric social work and long-term care in institutional and community settings. Her academic interests include the implicit curriculum and its contributions to professional socialization, policy and policy advocacy, specifically around aging, and online education. Dr. O’Brien is engaged in the community as a board member for Senior Transportation Connection and participates with the legislative committee and member meetings for the Center for Community Solution’s Council on Older Persons.
