    What are the different learnings pathways at LECOM?

    LECOM is a leader in innovative, student-centered medical education with five learning pathways leading to a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree – Lecture Discussion, Problem-Based Learning, Directed Study and two three-year pathways: the Primary Care Scholars and the Accelerated Physician Assistant Pathway.

    What is the typical career path for students of this program?

    The majority of LECOM graduates become primary care physicians (family physicians, internal medicine, pediatrics or OB-GYN). US News & World Report ranks LECOM in the top five medical colleges for graduating primary care physicians.

    Why should I be interested in this Ursuline/LECOM bridge program?

    LECOM receives the most medical school applications in the country.

    If accepted for the partnership, you would be offered a seat in LECOM’s Medical School before you even graduate high school/Ursuline. This seat would be saved for you until graduate from Ursuline. You’d spend 4 years at Ursuline to earn your bachelors degree, then spend 4 years at LECOM to earn your Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O) degree. You can either apply as a high school student, or you can apply during your freshman or sophomore year at Ursuline.     What are the steps I need to take to apply for this program?

    If you are interested in applying for the LECOM partnership, you would need to complete the following steps:

    Steps to apply for Ursuline/LECOM Early Acceptance Program (EAP):
    • Apply to Ursuline
    • Become admitted to Ursuline
    • Complete the EAP Inquiry Form: click here
    • Complete the LECOM application (this will be sent to you after you complete the inquiry form)
    • If selected to move forward, you will then complete an interview with LECOM
    • After the interview, you will be notified if you have been offered Early Acceptance into LECOM or not. If you are not offered a seat as a high school applicant, you can re-apply during your sophomore year at Ursuline for the partnership.
