Adjunct Course Nursing Faculty

Summary
Adjunct course nursing faculty members are appointed to a part-time position to teach courses in the nursing program. Positions are available immediately.
Responsibilities
The following list serves as a guide for adjunct course faculty in relation to their responsibilities in the classroom setting with students. There may be additional responsibilities in a particular course that are not part of this list.
- Maintaining expertise within content areas taught as well as current teaching practices.
- Assisting with development of course syllabus according to the course description and objectives approved by the BSN faculty.
- Assisting with the teaching of classes; input into preparation of exams and assignments.
- Documenting student issues, particularly in the case of possible course or clinical failures.
- Assisting with student evaluation of the course, clinical instruction, and instructors affiliated with the course.
- Attending level/clinical faculty meetings as necessary.
- Sharing insights/suggestions concerning congruence among the course content, clinical site, and written assignments with course/level coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned. For example, in certain courses, clinical requirements may include lab hours. Clinical faculty are required to attend lab days as these hours are encompassed in their contract.
Qualifications
1. BSN required; Master’s degree required, an MSN Preferred.
2. Current unencumbered license to practice nursing in Ohio.
