Nursing Faculty

Summary
The Breen School of Nursing invites applications for 10-month faculty positions in Undergraduate courses (Medical-Surgical and/or Mental Health focus) in the nursing program beginning August 15, 2024. The positions will be at the Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor rank depending on qualifications. Minimum qualifications: MSN degree, unencumbered Ohio RN license, relevant clinical practice experience, and the ability to work in an inclusive community. Preferred qualifications: doctoral degree and teaching experience. The position may be tenure track or non-tenure track. The position is available immediately and reports to the Dean, the Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions through the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Nursing.
Responsibilities
Maintaining expertise within content and clinical areas taught as well as state of the art teaching practices; Developing the course syllabus according to the course description and objectives approved by the Undergraduate faculty; teaching classes and preparing all assessment methodologies; documenting student issues; updating the use of textbooks and other readings and electronic resources as necessary; serving as an course coordinator, academic advisor and a clinical instructor to assigned students; attending all Undergraduate Nursing Committee meetings, assigned BSN subcommittees, The Breen School of Nursing Meetings and Faculty Assembly Committee(s).
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Master of Science degree in nursing (MSN), previous teaching experience, recognized certification and an unencumbered Ohio nursing license, minimum of 24 months as a Registered Nurse and the ability to work collaboratively in an inclusive community. Doctoral degree: (DNP or Ph.D. in nursing) preferred. The candidate must be able to accommodate flexible hours, as needed, including evenings. Demonstrated experience working within an inclusive community.
