    Nursing Faculty - Associate Director, Undergraduate BSN Program

    Summary

    The Associate Director of the Breen School of Nursing Undergraduate BSN Program is appointed to a full-time, 12-month, faculty/administrative position, reporting to the Director and Chief Nurse Administrator for the Breen School of Nursing. Position is available immediately.

    Responsibilities

    The Associate Director provides academic leadership for the undergraduate BSN programs including the traditional, generic undergraduate BSN program, and RN-BSN programs, and the second degree, accelerated BSN program. The Associate Director of the Undergraduate BSN Program is also responsible for:

    • Coordinating the development and implementation of all undergraduate BSN programs (traditional, accelerated, RN-BSN).
    • Overseeing the assessment of all BSN programs, curricula, students, and clinical sites, especially for purposes of program accreditation (this includes annual BSN curriculum review and revision as necessary).
    • Managing the day-to-day administration of the undergraduate program.
    • Assisting coordinators with the scheduling and staffing of classes.
    • Facilitating communication between sophomore, junior, and senior level faculty in the traditional BSN program and with other faculty in the school of nursing.
    • Chairing the BSN Program Committee within the school of nursing.
    • Assisting with the assessment/evaluation of classroom and clinical instruction.
    • Interviewing and recommending adjunct faculty for hiring.
    • Assisting the librarian in maintaining the collection of nursing literature.
    • Promoting excellence in academic and clinical practice environments, and in scholarship.
    • Providing leadership in higher education and health care.
    • Assisting with marketing, recruitment, and retention of students and faculty.
    • Assisting with projects, reports, accreditation, grants, and fund raising.
    • Teaching and advising students as assigned.
    • Participating in orientation and advising of new students in all undergraduate programs.
    • Being familiar with and adhering to accreditation and regulatory requirements.
    • In collaboration with the Director of the BSON, coordinates the systematic evaluation plan and continuous quality improvement process in the assessment of courses, curriculum, and the BSN/SDAP program.
    • Supervise, mentor and evaluate assigned faculty
    • Professional Development and scholarship is expected.

    Qualifications

    1. Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP, PhD).

    2. Three years’ teaching experience with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience with pre-licensure BSN students.

    3. Academic leadership experience.

    4. Must qualify for a faculty appointment and maintain an unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in Ohio.
