Linda Goodall-Martin serves as the director of Ursuline’s Master of Arts in Theological and Pastoral Studies program. She earned her PhD and MPhil from Drew University, MDiv from Vanderbilt Divinity School, and BA from Grove City College. Dr. Goodall-Martin is also certified as a Chemical Dependency Counseling Assistant through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor Professionals Board. She is passionate about preparing women and men for effective, transformative lay leadership in the Church and in society. She is equally passionate about cultivating a healthy spirituality in those individuals suffering from and impacted by the current addiction epidemic. Dr. Goodall-Martin specializes in the areas of Lay Pastoral Ministry, Church History, American Religion and Culture, World Religions, and Women in Christianity. Her current research examines the correlation between spirituality and addiction, and the role that spirituality plays in the recovery process. She has written, spoken and taught broadly at academic conferences and in the community on topics ranging from Christian fundamentalism and women in the Salvation Army, to the power of forgiveness, social justice and human agency, and reconciliation. She has been honored with the Teaching Excellence Award and is a deeply committed educator. She has served actively in her parish and in the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio.
