Why I Chose Ursuline
I chose Ursuline College under the guidance the Human Services Program Director at Lakeland Community College who told my class that Ursuline is the best school for the undergraduate degree in Social Work in the Cleveland area. Ursuline and its wonderful professors have helped me get where I am today. I am very proud of my decision to attend.
Putting my Ursuline Degree to Work
I have been accepted into the master’s program at Case Western Reserve University and I have been named Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Student of the Year for the National Association of Social Workers, Ohio Chapter, Region III. My education at Ursuline College and my field placement at Ohio Living Breckenridge Village have prepared me for a future I used to only dream about. Ursuline has made me a critical thinker and an astute professional. If I had gone anywhere else for my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, I would not be as successful as I am right now.
I’m Making my World More…
[Professional] My career goals are quite lofty. Currently, I am employed at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center as an Administrative Student Trainee. Since I will be attending (grad school at) Case Western Reserve University, my plan is to be able to continue with the VA as a Social Worker. Other goals include pursuing a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW), earning my Licensed Independent Social Work license with a Supervisory designation, earning my Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor license, and obtaining various other certifications. I truly am striving to achieve all that I can in this new profession of mine. Ursuline College will always be the foundation of all my success.
