    Ursuline College's Breen School of Nursing is one of the most respected nursing programs in the country. Our faculty are regularly invited to speak at conferences across the U.S. and internationally, and our graduates are recruited for positions in top research hospitals in Cleveland and beyond.

    Here you'll learn in a high-tech skills lab that mimics a hospital ward. You'll pursue a holistic, values-based education through a curriculum that emphasizes patient-care and teamwork. In fact, ours is one of the only nursing programs in the U.S. to earn an endorsement from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and all graduates leave our program TeamSTEPPS certified.

    Bachelor's in Nursing Program Accreditation

    The bachelor's degree program in nursing at Ursuline College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing.

    Through SNUC, Student Nurses of Ursuline College, students attend national conferences for networking, education, and leadership experience. They also organize campus-wide events in collaboration with professional organizations such as the American Red Cross.

    Careers: BSN Undergraduate Nursing Program

    Ursuline's Breen School brilliant graduates have led to a 100% job placement rate, post-licensure. Because of extensive faculty contacts, students secure excellent field placements as undergraduates and these often lead to full-time jobs in Cleveland's top hospitals after graduation. As the national nursing shortage grows, so will demand for competent, compassionate professionals practiced in teamwork and problem solving.

    Nurses today work autonomously in a variety of acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community-based agencies. As a nurse, you might choose to pursue a career as one of the following:

    • Nurse practitioner
    • Nurse educator
    • Administrator
    • Clinical specialist
    • Consultant

    Admission Requirements: BSN Undergraduate Nursing Program

    If you’re a high school student, you must meet the following admissions requirements to apply to the bachelor’s in nursing program:

    • GPA of 2.75 or above
    • Composite ACT of 20 or SAT of 1000
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in high school algebra I, biology with lab, and chemistry with lab by earning a C+ or higher in each of these courses

    If you have college credit, you must meet the following admissions requirements to transfer into the bachelor’s in nursing program:

    • GPA of 2.5 or above cumulative average of all college course work
    • A letter of recommendation, personal essay/statement or a resume
    • If you are currently or have been previously enrolled in a nursing program, you need a letter of good standing from the Director/Dean of the program
    • Required sciences (anatomy & physiology, inorganic/organic/biochemistry, and microbiology with labs) may be attempted only twice, including courses taken at any previous schools.
    • All science courses being transferred to Ursuline College must be taken within the last seven years. This includes anatomy & physiology, inorganic/organic/biochemistry, and microbiology.

    Applications are evaluated on an individual basis. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance to The Breen School of Nursing. The Dean of the Breen School of Nursing will review mitigating circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
