Adjunct / Posted June 02, 2025
Summary
Ursuline College is accepting applications for a Teagle Teaching Fellow position in English for the Fall 2025 semester to begin August 15, 2025. Candidates are invited to apply to join a team of adjunct and full-time English faculty who are working to implement a curricular re-design of our first-year composition sequence entitled, “Rhetorics of the Rust Belt.”
The Teagle Teaching Fellow will provide quality instruction in the College Composition and College Research courses that comprise the first-year writing sequence at Ursuline. In Summer 2024, the Department of English was awarded a grant from the Teagle Foundation as part of its “Cornerstone: Learning for Living” initiative. This initiative aims to revitalize the role of the humanities in general education by creating a common intellectual experience for students centered on the study of transformative texts. The Teagle Teaching Fellow at Ursuline College will contribute to the execution of the grant project by providing instruction in the first-year writing courses. In addition to teaching, additional compensation will be provided for Teagle Teaching Fellows to participate in various professional development activities including: a summer faculty workshop; monthly meetings with the first-year writing instructional team; and an end-of-semester workshop. Additional hours (paid at an hourly rate) in the Writing Center may also be available on a semester-by-semester basis.
