    Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service available to current students, faculty, staff, and members of the Ursuline Community. It provides access to books and audiovisual materials that are not available at the Library.

Ursuline College Library will request items from other libraries on your behalf. The conditions of ILL service are established by the National Interlibrary Loan Code, 1980 (adopted by the American Library Association).

Before requesting an item, check the library catalog and the OhioLINK catalog to see if the item is available. Ask Library staff for help with your search.

To make a request, complete the form below. A separate form is needed for each item requested. Complete and accurate information is essential for us to process your request. Materials usually arrive in about ten days, however there may be circumstances at the lending library that delay filling the request. We will notify you by email when the materials arrive or you can call the Circulation Desk at 440 449 4202 or email ill@ursuline.edu to check on a request.

You must return ILL items directly to Ursuline College Library. Loan periods for items are determined by the lending library but are typically 2-3 weeks. Renewals are not guaranteed, so contact ILL staff (ill@ursuline.edu) a few days before the due date to request a renewal. Overdue fines are $1.00 per day for students, faculty and staff. Books and AV 30 days overdue will be billed $125.00. This bill will be reduced to $50.00 if the item is returned in a timely manner.

    Restrictions

Some materials are not available through Interlibrary Loan, such as rare books, fragile materials, microfilm, audiovisual materials and reference books. Materials borrowed from other libraries may not be placed on reserve. The lending library may specify that its materials only be used in the library or that no photocopies of the material be made. All materials are subject to recall at any time by the lending library.

Undergraduate students may request up to two items per week. Graduate students may request up to five items per week.

    Interlibrary Loan Request

Use this form to request books or AV materials not available in the Ursuline Library or OhioLINK Central Catalog. If you need assistance, please contact a reference librarian.

"I have verified that this item is not available in the Ursuline Library nor through OhioLINK." (This form will not be processed unless this box is checked).
