    Library Policies

Here are the privileges and responsibilities associated with making use of Ursuline's library.

A student takes a book from a shelf

    Privileges

Most books and some media in our library circulate to Ursuline College students, faculty, staff, alumni, Sisters in the Ursuline Community, and board members. Anyone holding a card from another OhioLINK library, or the Cuyahoga County Public Library, may also borrow materials. Some items do not circulate at all. The number of books that may be borrowed and the length of time they may be kept vary. Most books may be renewed online or by calling the Circulation Desk.

Ursuline faculty, staff, and students may also borrow materials from the statewide OhioLINK network. These books must be requested by the patron and arrive at Ursuline within 3-5 weekdays. Most may be renewed online. Many public libraries' materials may be borrowed through SearchOhio.

Book drops are available for returning material when the Library is closed.

    Responsibilities

All Ursuline College library patrons must have an Ursuline ID, know their ID number, or have a picture ID to check out material and/or access most online services. Items checked out on a patron's ID are his/her responsibility.

Although we try to send email courtesy notices to remind patrons of upcoming due dates, it is the borrower's responsibility to keep track of when material is due.

    Renewals and Overdue Material

Many materials can be renewed. If renewing online, be sure that the renewal is accepted. Occasionally renewals do not go through because you have large fines already or because another person has requested the material. Fines and overdue books can block your registration or graduation.

Materials not returned within a month are billed for the cost of the item plus a processing fee. OhioLINK books are billed at a flat rate of $125.

    Fine Payment

Pay library fines with cash or check at the Circulation Desk. If you wish to pay with a credit card, log in to MyUrsuline and pay via CASHNet. To complete the transaction, you must notify the Library and provide a copy of your email receipt. Follow these steps to pay your fine online:

    • Log in to MyUrsuline and click the "Students" tab.
    • Click "My Account" in the navigation bar on the left side of the screen.
    • Under "Pay using CASHNet," click "Go to CASHNet."
    • Select the "Library Fines" box.
    • Enter the dollar amount.
    • Submit payment.
    • Forward your email receipt to circulation@ursuline.edu, or print a copy and hand it to a Library Circulation Desk staff member.

For questions about renewals, fines, or other circulation matters, e-mail the circulation desk at circulation@ursuline.edu or call 440 449 4202.
