Gain the Pre-Law School Skills You Need at Ursuline

As a respected Pre-Law school, Ursuline College can help you build the analytical, oral, and written communication skills necessary to be successful in law school and beyond. LSAT practice tests will help you prepare for the law school exam while networking nights will introduce you to leaders in the field, thanks to our strong ties to the Cleveland legal community.

In addition, your Pre-Law adviser will help you select a major, introduce you to internship opportunities and coach you through the Law School application process. Through your liberal arts education and your Pre-Law program, you'll gain knowledge you'll need to succeed in law school.

The Pre-Law program at Ursuline will equip you with knowledge of:

    • Ethics and how values are manifested in society
    • Grammar and the ability to write clearly and concisely
    • History and the ability to research the role the law played in its unfolding
    • Logic and the ability to use reason to solve difficulties
    • Rhetoric and the ability to craft a persuasive argument

    Pre-Law Majors

The Pre-Law program for undergraduates at Ursuline offers the flexibility to choose the Pre-Law major or path that works for you. Because Pre-Law is a program and not a major, you can select the area of study that interests you while also gaining the essential Pre-Law school skills you’ll need to be successful.

From English and Philosophy to Business and Biology, you have many options for your major as a Pre-Law student. Learn more about Pre-Law program course requirements and majors at Ursuline College.

*As of May 2022, Ursuline College no longer has a Legal Studies major, minor, or certificate and the program is no longer approved by the American Bar Association.

    Bridge Program: Pre-Law Program

Ursuline offers accelerated paths to law school in 3+3 partnerships with Cleveland State University's College of Law and The Catholic University of America's Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C.

    Careers: Pre-Law Program

    What Lawyers Do

As a lawyer you’ll advise, advocate for, and represent individuals, businesses, and government agencies on legal issues and disputes, conduct legal research, interpret the law, rulings, and regulations, and work with legal documents such as contracts, wills, lawsuits, deeds, and more.

    Work Environment

You might choose to work at a private or corporate law firm or for federal, local, and state governments. In Northeast Ohio’s robust healthcare market, there is a demand for attorneys specializing in this area. Throughout your Pre-Law program, your advisor will provide guidance to help you determine the type of work environment that’s right for you.

    Pay

The investment in your Pre-Law school education will pay off in the long run. Lawyers often enjoy a dependable income and high earning potential. Click here for the latest recorded median annual wage for lawyers.
