Summary
Full-time position responsible for the coordination of student engagement and support towards increased student success. Create community building initiatives to provide students a common sense of purpose, belonging, safety, and inclusion. Offer student programming and leadership opportunities that focus on academic, personal, and vocational development. Reports to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs & Director of Women’s Center.
Responsibilities
To cultivate a vibrant campus environment by educating and empowering student leaders through the implementation of campus programs and the celebration of Ursuline traditions. Oversee day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Activities, serving as a resource to student leaders, current students, campus offices, and areas in Student Affairs, including oversight and guidance for the Coordinator of Student Activities, all student organizations, and the Emerging Leaders Program. Develop, plan, and coordinate Ursuline events as part of the Ursuline College Blueprint, our signature experience. Supervise the Coordinator of Student Activities and work-study students; co-supervise the PT Administrative Assistant. Develop assessment and evaluation measures; report findings; and prepare information for monthly and annual reports. Plan, develop, and implement New Student Orientation in August. Develop a First Year Experience Program and serve as a liaison between Academic Advisors and Office of Student Success Develop a Sophomore Experience to support students in increasing their connections and engagement with the campus community, and supporting their career engagement. Assist the Commencement Coordinator with Commencement activities. Manage social media, communication, and website for the department, including office budget.
Qualifications
Masters degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work or other related field. At least 3 year’s experience working with college students, preferably first time/full time. Relevant skills include: Event planning, creativity, collaboration, networking, project management, attention to detail. Strong communication skills and collaboration; Microsoft Suite skills. Ability to work in an inclusive and diverse community. Position requires travel, driving vehicles, and some late night and weekend hours.
