    Commencement 2022

Ursuline College welcomes 2022 graduates and their families to celebrate an outdoor, Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10am at the Lake County Captains' stadium. Graduates are to arrive for line-up at 9am.

Ursuline College welcomes graduates and their families to celebrate the annual Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10am.  There is only one commencement ceremony each year (it includes, January, May, and August grads for that year).

    Preparing to Graduate

    • Ordering of caps & gowns begins April 11, 2022. Kendra in the bookstore can help with ordering

    General Information

Commencement will be held at Classic Park, home of the Lake County Captains and will start promptly at 10am. The ceremony lasts approximately two hours.  Classic Park is located at 35300 Vine Street in Eastlake, Ohio. It is on the corner of SOM Center (Rt. #91) and Vine Street. See directions, below.

Graduates should arrive at Classic Park to line up no later than 9:15am.

Doors will open for guests at 9am. Guests will enter at the main gate facing SOM Center (Route #91). Only the doors at the main gate will be open for admittance. All guests MUST have a ticket to enter the venue. Ushers can direct guests to accessible seating.

Parking: Classic Park is providing parking spaces on their property. In addition, there is a parking lot across the street from Classic Park which will be available for guests. There is a pedestrian bridge between that parking lot and Classic Park.  Handicap parking spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If all handicap spots are taken, guests may enter at the Gold Lot and drop off individuals and then go find a parking space in a general parking space area.  Do not use private lots off of Curtis Boulevard.

    Commencement Speaker

The 2022 Commencement Speaker is WKYC's multi-Emmy award winning Chief Meteorologist and Emmy award winning Anchor Betsy Kling, a regional leader in promoting STEM education for girls. Read more about Ms. Kling, here.

    Rain Plan

In the event of  inclement weather, we will make the call to move the ceremony indoors by 3:00 pm Thursday, May 12, so that graduates, their families, faculty and staff will know what to expect. Decision will be made in conjunction with the Lake County Captains and Major League Baseball.

Information about the weather, which necessitates a change of venue and limits guests, will be emailed, sent by URSAlert, posted on our website, Facebook, and Instagram

The indoor Commencement, if necessary, will be held same day, Friday, May 13, with two sessions in the Sister Diana Stano Athletics Center on campus:

    • 10:00 am will be all graduate students + all Bachelor of Arts students
    • 1:00 pm will be all BSN students (Undergraduate and SDAP)

If the ceremonies are held indoors, students will only have 2 guest tickets to use. Guests who have no ticket for an indoor ceremony may watch the streaming video in the Bishop Anthony Pilla Student Center on campus. We kindly ask graduates and guests attending the 10:00 am ceremony to leave campus after the ceremony to allow for parking for those attending the 1:00pm ceremony.
