    Academic Orientations

This required program is designed to facilitate your smooth transition and academic success at Ursuline College. You will learn about our core curriculum, as well as specific requirements about your major; meet with an academic advisor/faculty member to select and then register for your classes for the upcoming semester; connect with current students and other new students; as well as get your Ursuline student ID.

    Please note:

    • Students who have not deposited before their Academic Orientation date will not be registered for classes until their deposit has been received. Deposits can be submitted online at www.ursuline.edu/deposit or can be mailed to Robin Smith in the Admission office. Please call her at 440.646.8365 if you have questions.
    • If you live out-of-state and it's too far to drive to the college, you will be contacted by phone and/or email by URSA, the office that coordinates Academic Orientation to make alternate arrangements.
    • Second Degree Accelerated Nursing students will attend their own orientation. The nursing department will follow up directly with you with more details.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call Rachel Stucke at 440.449.2049 or Dr. Barbara Huff at 440.646.8123.

Two Fall Orientation sessions are provided for specific student groups. Students will register for the appropriate Fall Orientation while on campus for Academic Orientation sessions throughout the summer. For questions about Orientation, contact Nancy Rahn, Student Success Coordinator, at 440.449.5842 or Nancy.Rahn@Ursuline.edu.

    Fall Orientation: Adult/Graduate Session

This session is for any new student over the age of 21 and any transfer student, regardless of age, who is transferring more than 38 credits. Second Degree Accelerated Nursing students attend a different Orientation provided by the nursing department.

The program is designed with the adult student in mind, including the essentials to help prepare you for academic success. Other students will be on hand to share insight and advice. You will learn more about campus resources, network with administrators, participate in a Welcome Ceremony and have the opportunity to find classrooms.

Free childcare is provided if needed.

    Fall Orientation: Traditional Students

This session is mandatory for all traditional-aged new students and transfer students who are both under 21 and transferring 38 credits or less.

A team of upper class Orientation Arrows will lead you through activities, social events and sessions to begin your immersion into college life. Most importantly you will begin making friends and gain important knowledge to start classes at Ursuline as a successful student.

    Welcome Week

These events are open to all students! New, returning, transfer, traditional aged, non-traditional aged… everyone is welcome to join the fun!

Welcome Week is filled with fun activities to help you become familiar with campus, meet other students, and connect you with the resources you'll need for success at Ursuline College. Get ready for all the FUN you'll be having your first week of classes!

Questions? Contact Tiffany Wallace, Director of Student Activities, at 440.646.8327 or TWallace@ursuline.edu.
