    Campus Ministry

Ursuline is committed to educating the whole person. Campus Ministry focuses on your spiritual life.

Campus Ministry at Ursuline College envisions all students developing in their spiritual growth through contemplation by encouraging their active participation and leadership in worship, community prayer and retreats; and through action by providing them opportunities for participation and leadership in community building, community service and service learning, thus preparing students to succeed in life.

    Service Learning

The Service Learning Credit Program is an experiential education opportunity that provides the link between the classroom and civic engagement. It allows students to gain academic credit for volunteer service done in conjunction with their academic courses.

The Program involves an academic relationship between a student, faculty member, campus minister, and non-profit agency. It is an opportunity for a student to augment coursework and volunteer service related to her/his academic coursework (not necessarily in their major). It is a carefully monitored service experience in which a student has intentional learning goals and reflects actively on what she/he is learning throughout the experience. Ursuline offers the “Added Credit Model” where a service learning credit is earned in a single semester and is tied to an existing course as a FREE additional academic credit.

Any humanitarian service done for an agency outside the College may qualify for a service learning project. The work must be done in a volunteer status—even if the student works for a non-profit agency. The Service Learning Project cannot be done at a for-profit company, nor should it be done at Ursuline College, since the aim of Service Learning is to get students out into the community where they con become civically engaged.

For further details, refer to the Service Learning Credit Program Guide and Application.

    Campus Ministry FAQs

I served as a peer minister at my high school. How do I get involved in Campus Ministry?

Campus Ministry is always looking for ways to include students in liturgies and prayer services. We always need readers, Eucharistic Ministers, musicians, and singers.

Do I have to be Catholic to attend Mass?
You do not have to be Catholic, but you should know that we believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. If you do not believe this, then you should not receive the Eucharist.

Where is the Campus Ministry Office?
The Campus Ministry Office is in Mullen 120 opposite the vending machines on the ground floor.

Who do I talk to about becoming a Catholic or completing the Sacraments?
Contact Deanne W. Hurley, Vice President for Student Affairs, at 440.646.8320 or

    send an email here.
