Why I Chose Ursuline
I chose Ursuline for several reasons. One is family ties; my great aunt is a nun here and my aunt went to college here. The second is that one of my majors was Historic Preservation and there are no other schools in the area that offer that program. The third was that I liked that it’s a small school and a small, very beautiful campus. Lastly, I liked that it is women focused.
Putting My Ursuline Degree to Work
I did a Historic Preservation internship at the Shaker Historical Society and a Visual Communication Design internship at Services for Independent Living, where I updated their brochure, helped run events and programs, and started a newsletter. The great thing about being in a small school is that when you have a specific interest, the professors tailor projects and things around your interests. So although I was perfectly qualified for the internships from the classes, I had the extra experience in things more closely related to my interests, which helped me with the projects I did in these organizations.
I’m Making My World More Conscious
Ursuline has helped me become more socially conscious. The things I'm doing now and will do in the future, big or small, have an effect on the world around me and it's important to make sure that I'm making a positive impact.
